Holidays are the perfect time to plan a fun craft with friends.
For Easter this year a super sweet friend of mine, Ally (Swirls and Sunshine), planned a cookie decorating party. We were all so excited to join in on the fun and finally try our hand at royal icing decorating. She pre-baked the cookies and made the royal icing ahead of time. When we arrived she had the cutest tablescape setup in her home.
Her cookie recipe is: Better Homes & Gardens – Sugar Cookie Cutouts
Her royal icing recipe on the side of the container:Wilton Meringue Powder
I learned pretty quickly that the decorating process is a lot harder than it looks. I learned there’s a difference between outline icing and flood icing. I might have mixed up the two a couple of times lol.
The first stage of my cookies were not Pinterest worthy photos. After a little help from Ally’s calligraphy skills, the final product came out so much better than I thought!
No matter the holiday, I encourage you to plan a fun get together with your friends. Wonderful memories are made and the laughter is contagious.
All the best,
