Gender Reveal Party

Gender Reveal Party

Spoiler Alert: We’re having a BOY!!

The dust has finally settled and we’re finally able to start processing the sweet and exciting news. We are having a BOY and we are so excited!!! As the days and weeks passed leading up to our 20wk appointment we went back and forth on whether or not we should find out what we were having. Ultimately, I was shopping in BuyBuyBaby one day and the store came to a corner where there were boy clothes on one side and girl clothes on the other. I just wanted to know which side of the store to look at. After that moment we decided we were going to find out! Throughout this pregnancy we have always said we wanted a happy healthy baby and it didn’t matter if we were having a boy or girl. That same ideology still rings true for us now that we know what we’re having. We are so excited to be growing our family by one with a sweet little boy in January!

At our 20wk appointment we asked the ultrasound tech to keep the gender a secret, because we knew we wanted to find out with family and friends.  She kindly obliged and put the news in an envelope that we entrusted to our sweet friend. The only thing that was left at this point was the party and the surprise!

Now, to tell you about our gender reveal party!! We planned the party for a beautiful September day at my husband’s family ranch. We invited family and friends and had the best day catching up over delicious BBQ. I knew I wanted the theme of the party to be fall with pumpkins and greenery with a splash of gender reveal decorations mixed in, and that’s exactly what we did. We ordered a few ‘boy or girl’ decorations on Amazon and bought flowers, greenery and pumpkins from our local grocery store.

The SURPRISE! I almost forgot to mention how the gender was revealed to us. My husband was a punter for the University of Florida football team. We thought it would be fun for him to punt a small football filled with pink or blue powder. We bought this football off of Etsy that came with pink and blue powder. Our sweet friend filled the football and brought it to the party. My husband decided he wanted to relive his glory days and wear his college football jersey and cleats. I’m not kidding when I say it was the best punt of his life and we shared the sweetest moment once we found out the news!!! We cannot wait to welcome our sweet baby boy in January!

Now that we know what we’re having our next project is to start decorating our nursery room. We will update you all on that process once we get a game plan for the theme. Until then we’re soaking up the sweet boy news!

All the best,

Em
